U2 begin the first leg of their Vertigo//2005 world tour in San Diego on 28th March 2005 for the first leg of 13 cities across North America before arriving in Brussels on 10th June for the first of 24 scheduled European performances.

Paul Sergeant, Millennium Stadium General Manager said, “This is the culmination of months of discussions and negotiations and we are thrilled that the date is finally in the diary.

“U2 are arguably the world’s biggest band and tickets are expected to sell out within a day.

“We are delighted to bring a band of the calibre of U2 to the Millennium Stadium and to Wales – the announcement endorses once again that we are one of the world’s leading venues. With REM also performing at the Stadium on July 10th, it is going to be an exciting time to say the least.”

Tickets go on public sale at 9am on Friday (January 28) but subscribers to U2’s official website u2.com will have an opportunity to reserve tickets in advance of the on sale date and will receive an e-mail direct with booking information.
