Millennium Stadium chief executive, Paul Sergeant, today re-assured fans ahead of the FA Community Shield on Sunday, that all necessary precautions are being taken by his staff in light of the recent UK high security alert.

Working closely with South Wales Police and the Football association, all risk assessment protocols have been completed, although evaluation of risk is always an ongoing process and, whilst it has been confirmed there is no specific threat, fans will notice high visibility security methods in place throughout the ground.
"We would just like to remind all visitors not to bring unnecessary items into the ground such as bags and holdalls and reiterate our normal policy of no bottles, cans or containers," said Sergeant.
"If in doubt please refer to the back of your match day ticket, which offers a full list of terms and conditions which must be met before you will be granted access to the Stadium.
"There will be stop and search procedures at all turnstiles, which can be a time consuming process, but we ask that all spectators work with us and remain vigilant at all times and arriving a little earlier than intended may be a sensible idea." Sergeant added.
The Millennium Stadium would like to encourage the public to play their part and cooperate with all stewards, as safety of spectators is of paramount importance. The Stadium would also like to apologise in advance for any possible delays which may occur.
