Millennium Stadium ticket sales for Oasis Live in Concert on Friday 12 June were boosted last night as the stars scooped the Best Band gong at the prestigious NME awards.
The Manchester band, who led the battle with seven nominations, beat off competition from Bloc Party, Radiohead and The Last Shadow Puppets to win the award.
It is the fourth time that Noel and Liam Gallagher have accepted the prize throughout their hugely successful run which dates back to the 1994 debut album, Definitely Maybe.
At the award ceremony in 2003, the brothers walked away with Best UK Band, Best International Band and NME Artist of the Year while Liam alone also picked up the great compliment of Best Haircut.
NME editor Conor McNicholas said of the London event last night:
“Oasis have proved yet again that our love affair with them simply has no sign of ending.”
This is true at the Millennium Stadium were tickets are selling fast for the band’s return to the must-play venue on their biggest ever tour of open air venues in the UK and Ireland.
Oasis will be joined by special guests Kasabian and The Enemy when they set out to entertain their fans on all the UK dates, starting at Heaton Park in their native city of Manchester on 4 June this year.
Limited tickets for their Cardiff date are available at www.oasisinet.com, Ticket Hotline 08705 582582, the Oasis Lo-Call 24-hr hotline, 0844 412 4638 and all usual ticket outlets.
