Soldiers from the 2nd Battalion The Royal Welsh ended their homecoming parade through Cardiff at the home of Welsh sport yesterday.
The march began at Cardiff Castle with a rememberance service and medal ceremony and ended at the stadium, where a reception for the troops was held as part of the successful Millennium Stadium's Community Events initiative.
The Royal Welsh event marked the end of two years of operations in the Afghanistan and Millennium Stadium bosses were delighted to offer the facilities at the multi-event venue free of hire charge.
Any charitable or community organisations across Wales can apply to bring their events to the Millennium Stadium – which holds up to 15 community events per year.
More information can be found at the Millennium Stadium website.
