Students make way for Santa

Students from CMU (Cardiff Metropolitan University) will hand over to Father Christmas at the Millennium Stadium today for the launch of the unique Santa Claus Tours at the home of Welsh sport.
The local undergraduates have created a magical grotto for Santa after the University and Millennium Stadium collaborated for an exciting work-based learning module as part the Event Management course.
Fifteen aspiring event managers took part in the project which required them to design and construct a grotto fit for the arrival of Santa and the popular Millennium Stadium Tours with an exclusive Christmas twist.
Santa Claus Tours will run daily from today until Christmas Eve from the WRU Shop on Westgate Street in Cardiff and advanced booking is advised with over 1,300 children from primary schools across South Wales already signed up to visit Santa this Christmas.
“This year’s Santa Claus Tours are a must-visit for anyone looking for something extra special for the children this Christmas,” said Claire Jenkins, Tours Manager, who has worked with the students to create the best festive season experience.
“The students have pulled out all the stops for the second year running to create a spectacular headquarters for Santa at the Millennium Stadium and it has been a pleasure to work with Neil Marcus again and the students throughout this project.”
Neil Marcus, Senior lecture in Events, added: “It’s been a great opportunity to create something magical for all those coming on the tours. The students have given many hours to prepare for Santa Claus and create a home for him in the run up to his very busy evening on Christmas Eve. There’s plenty for the eyes to take in and enjoy, and we hope Santa Claus enjoys his stay too!”
