Tickets for Bruce Springsteen’s 2013 Wrecking Ball World Tour at the Millennium Stadium on 23 July went on public sale today at 9.00am.
The Boss and his E Street Band are coming back to rock Cardiff next summer and Springsteen fans can book their place for the gig from £55 at www.livenation.co.uk or www.ticketmaster.co.uk.
Marking the 17th studio album Wrecking Ball, which debuted at #1 in the US and 15 other countries, the World Tour has already attracted over 2.1 million fans over 80 shows including several of the longest performances of Springsteen’s career.
Due to popular demand, the Cardiff gig was added to the Wrecking Ball bill earlier this week and it was confirmed that Springsteen will feature once more on the long list of Millennium Stadium’s rock artists including U2, The Rolling Stones, Paul McCartney, The Police and Red Hot Chilli Peppers.
Wales’ rock fans will remember when Springsteen first played to a packed out Millennium Stadium on his Magic Tour in the summer of 2008.
The US rock star is not the first act to return to the home of Welsh sport and entertainment – Madonna, Oasis and Take That have each played two sell-out tours at the must-play, must-visit venue.
Venue Sales Manager, Alex Luff, is charged with attracting the biggest and best events to the Millennium Stadium which is owned and operated by the Welsh Rugby Union. He said: “Rock fans all over Wales and beyond will remember a number of major live rock concerts at the Millennium Stadium including Springsteen’s Magic tour in 2008 which was an absolutely fantastic gig.
“The news that The Boss and his band are coming back to the city of Cardiff on 23 July has been met with huge enthusiasm and as tickets go on sale to the public at 9am today, we’re working with the promoters and the relevant city-wide stakeholders to make
sure the 2013 Wrecking Ball Tour is another truly spectacular event.”
Tickets for Cardiff’s gig are available subject to booking fee priced at £55 and £62.50.
