The biggest selling classical artist of the century, Katherine Jenkins will be performing at the Six Nations Wales v England game this Saturday, 25th February, marking her 20th anniversary singing at Principality Stadium and going back to where it all started.

Katherine says, “I cannot believe it’s been 20 years since I first sang at the stadium for the Welsh team. It was a huge moment for me back then and it played such a pivotal role in the start of my career. It’s lovely to have an opportunity to acknowledge the incredible support & platform I was given and I thank the WRU for having me back.”

There’s nothing like the atmosphere at a Wales v England game during the Guinness Six Nations, and this Saturday is a sold-out fixture so the stadium will be in full voice!”

The pre-match performance this weekend will be Jenkins’ eighth occasion singing at a rugby international in Cardiff. Her performance will form part of the pre-match entertainment, following the choirs, made up of voices from Guernsey Male Voice Choir and Côr Meibion Pendyrus from Tylorstown, Rhondda, who will be joined by the Regimental Band Corps of Drums of the Royal Welsh.

One year on from the devastating Ukraine conflict, tributes will be paid across all sporting events this weekend. Katherine will be performing the Rugby World Cup anthem, ‘World in Union’ prior to kick off as a hope for a resolution to the conflict.  Six Nations along with all Rugby Unions and Federations will also mark the occasion with a message of solidarity across their respective social media channels today  (Friday 24th February) at 10:30am, prior to the nationwide minute’s silence at 11am.  The WRU will continue to promote the message of solidarity as part of Saturday’s match with a moment of silence before the anthems.

Supporters are encouraged to ‘get in early’, to not miss Jenkins’ anniversary performance, and supporters don’t have to worry about missing any of rugby action, as the Guinness Six Nations Italy v Ireland clash will be shown on the in-bowl big screens from gates open at 14:15. (ITA v IRE KO:14:15).
