Fans delight as the hottest tickets in Welsh rugby go on sale on the same day, for the first time, and one Wales side books a date with destiny at Principality Stadium.

Supporters have the opportunity to snap up tickets for both the men’s and women’s 2024 Six Nations tournaments as well as Wales’ clash with the Barbarians in November – a game which will see record cap-holder Alun Wyn Jones reunited with his former international teammates, albeit on the opposing team.

Tickets to watch both international Wales teams at home in the Six Nations Championship matches go on public sale on Thursday 21st September, alongside the BaaBaas game.

The ‘homecoming’ clash against the Barbarians at Principality Stadium on Saturday 4th November will give ardent supporters the chance to welcome Wales back to the home of Welsh rugby following the Rugby World Cup in France.

Wales Women also return to their homeland at Cardiff Arms Park, following the inaugural WXV tournament in New Zealand, for their Six Nations campaign with clashes against Scotland, on Saturday 23rd March and France, on Saturday 21st April, but they will run out at Principality Stadium for their final clash against Italy on Saturday 27th April.

Wales broke crowd records during the 2023 TikTok Women’s Six Nations, with a record sell-out crowd of 8,862 for their meeting with England, nearly doubling the previous record crowd of 4,962 against Ireland in the opening game of the tournament that same year.

The match against Italy at Principality Stadium is destined to be a celebration of Welsh rugby sitting within the 2024 Road to Principality schedule.

Wales’ headline match opens ‘Super Saturday’ the Women’s Six Nations and should be a record breaking climax to a hugely significant season for head coach Ioan Cunningham’s charges, it but will also be followed by adult women’s Plate and Cup finals at Principality Stadium and supporters who purchase tickets to the international game will automatically get access to the community finals that afternoon.

Supporters can buy tickets for the Women’s Six Nation’s climax against Italy at Principality Stadium starting from the same price as the two matches taking place at Cardiff Arms Park with adult tickets starting at £10 and £5 for U17s.

Ioan Cunningham, Wales Head coach, said: “Every Welsh international wants the opportunity to play at the home of Welsh rugby and to finish the 2024 Six Nations with a Test match against Italy at the Principality Stadium, reflects the ambition of the players, coaches and staff. The record-breaking and sell-out crowds we had for the recent Six Nations campaign made a big difference and the atmosphere generated by the Welsh supporters had a real impact on our performances.”

Scheduling the match at Principality Stadium is the next step to achieving the ambition of filling the home of Welsh rugby for a women’s international by the time Wales face England in Cardiff in the 2025 tournament.

Nigel Walker, WRU interim CEO says, “The homecoming fixture for our senior men’s side against the Barbarians is set to be a great day out for rugby supporters throughout Wales, with a Rugby World Cup campaign to celebrates and some legends of our game, including the great Alun Wyn Jones, taking part.

“And there are also some great value tickets available for both the men’s and women’s 2024 Six Nations campaigns in Cardiff.

“The Italy game is a fantastic opportunity to celebrate women’s rugby in Wales, with two finals from our community game to be played at Principality Stadium after the climax to the 2024 Women’s Six Nations.

“We have a stated ambition to fill Principality Stadium to its rafters for England’s visit to Cardiff in 2025. Welsh rugby has been inspired by the record sell-out crowd against England at the Arms Park last season and we will be looking to repeat that impressive feat against Scotland and France this year at the same venue, then we move next door to Principality Stadium where the sky – or at least the roof – is the limit!

“If we can set a new record with the match against Italy it will be a fantastic fillip for rugby in Wales and show we are on target to achieve our ambitions for exponential growth in the women’s and girls’ game in the months and years ahead.”

Wales senior men’s side kick off their Guinness Six Nations campaign with the visit from Scotland to Principality Stadium, followed by France and Italy both travelling to the capital.

The number of entry level seats at the home of Welsh rugby will double for the 2024 Guinness Six Nations games, with tickets starting from £20 for U17s and £40 for adults. Some 10,000 tickets in the upper tier will also decrease in price due to re-categorisation and tickets for the best seats in house, are frozen in line with 2022 Six Nations pricing.

Welsh rugby supporters under 17 will be able to take advantage of a 50 percent concessions offer to attend the final game of the 2024 Six Nations campaign against Italy, which applies to every seat in the ground.

Before all of that, don’t forget Hannah Jones’ Wales take on USA at Stadiwm CSM in Colwyn bay on Saturday 30 September (KO 3pm).

The Test match against the USA comes before Wales Women head off to play in the new Global Tier 1 WXV tournament in New Zealand.

Wales are sixth in the world rankings and qualified for the new WXV1 by finishing third in the 2023 Six Nations, with wins over Ireland, Scotland and Italy.

The USA clash will allow Welsh supporters in North Wales a chance to see the side in action before they travel to take on world champions New Zealand, Australia and Canada in WXV1 in New Zealand.
